Dr. Toyin Ajisafe

Dr. Toyin AjisafeDr. Ajisafe will present his research on the impact of excess weight and obesity on physical and motor development of children. He will focus on plantar sensation deficits and associated movement impediments. This research is funded by a 2017–2018 University Research Enhancement grant and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Discussion will follow.

Dr. Ajisafe has a Ph.D. in Kinesiology and Health, with a Biomechanics Specialization, from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He is a fellow of the Southern Regional Education Board. His current interests are exploring novel training methods to address barriers to movement, improve locomotor skills, and promote physical activity and health in pediatric populations with overweight and obesity. Dr. Ajisafe enjoys spending time with his wife and their two boys. He is an avid soccer fan and player.
