Welcome to the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology web page. The department, devoted to excellence in instruction, research, and service, prepares counselors, representing diverse backgrounds and experiences, to serve the educational and mental health needs in the global community. All counseling programs including the doctorate are accredited by the Council for accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs.

Texas A&M University -Corpus Christi's Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology is the 2007 recipient of the Outstanding Counselor Education Program Award, presented by the Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors. This national award is not presented every year, but only when there is a particularly deserving program. In the photo at right, Dr. Robert Smith, right, accepts the award from Dr. David Kliest at the American Counseling Association Conference in Detroit on March 23.
