Dr. Lon Seiger has been a professor in the Department of Kinesiology for the past 18 years. He teaches the majority of the health education classes and outdoor adventure programs.

Prior to coming to TAMUCC, Dr. Seiger taught health and physical education for three years in the Oklahoma public schools and was a professor at Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA and Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. He received his doctorate from Oklahoma State University, his master's from East Central Oklahoma State University, and his bachelor's from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Dr. Seiger has written several books and articles on walking and fitness and wellness. He has made numerous presentations on the national, regional, state, and local levels. His current interest includes facilitating rhythms programs using percussion-related instruments.

He is married to his wife, Pam, and has three children, Von, Jensyn, and Keera.
