Daniel Pearce, Ph.D., is Professor of Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi. Before coming to TAMUCC in 1993, Dr. Pearce served on the faculties of Northeastern Illinois University, Montana State University-Billings, and Western Illinois University. His doctoral degree is from Michigan State University, and he received his master's degree from Wayne State University and his bachelor's degree from Albion College.

At TAMUCC Dr. Pearce teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in secondary reading, literacy research, and diagnosis and remediation. His scholarship focuses on reading comprehension and on the role of reading and writing in the learning of mathematics. He is also very interested in staff development projects and instructional change, having worked with several school districts in multi-year staff development projects.
