Michael J. "Mike" Moody joins the College of Education faculty after completing a program of studies leading to an Ed.D. at the University of South Dakota. Moody previously earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Chadron State College in Chadron, Neb., and he received a Certificate of Specialization in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Moody joins the Department of Educational Administration and Research as an Assistant Professor with an emphasis in school superintendency.
Prior to joining the faculty at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Moody enjoyed a 31-year career in public education in Nebraska. During his tenure as a professional educator, Moody taught in a one-room schoolhouse, served as a school counselor, was an elementary principal, and was a school superintendent for nine years. In addition, Moody coached and sponsored a wide variety of school activities.
As part of Moody's professional career in Nebraska, he was actively involved with local and state initiatives focused on the concept of "high school renewal." Additionally, he served in a leadership capacity at both the state and national levels with the National Network for Educational Renewal (NNER). His experiences with that organization have led Moody to a personal and professional commitment to the pivotal work of John Goodlad, and to the educational ideals advanced by the NNER's Agenda for Education in a Democracy.
