Current Projects

Served as program planner for the District 12 SkillsUSA Leadership Conference at TAMU-CC, District 12 SkillsUSA Leadership

Served on a state wide committee for the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) working with teacher certification for Trade and Industrial Education (TIE) teachers

Served as National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) area test coordinator for doing industry and teacher competency testing. Area Test Center Directory

Served as coordinator and administrator for the Chapter 133 Apprenticeship Instructor Training contract through the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). As administrator duties include doing an annual needs assessment of all programs receiving training funds through the TWC and providing instructor training for apprenticeship programs on a statewide basis. This also includes identifying and employing knowledgeable apprenticeship trainers, scheduling classes and evaluating the quality and consistency of the training received by apprenticeship instructors. This contract was originally provided through a competitive bid process through TWC and was then reverted to TAMU--CC as being a sole source for the training.

Grants

Grant Award for the Recruitment and Retention professional development project. Grant was awarded through a competitive bid process with Texas Education Agency (TEA), and as grant administrator duties include organizing and providing recognized professional development speakers for the program. Grant award for the Career Technology Education (CTE) Leadership Academy. Grant was awarded through a competitive bid process with the TEA, and as grant administrator duties include organizing and providing recognized professional training personnel as a part of training new CTE administrators in the public schools through out the state. Grant award for the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources and theTransportation, Distribution and Logistics Education Excellence Project. Grant was awarded through a competitive bid process with the TEA, and as grant administrator the project will be revising the Texas Essential Knowledges and Skills (TEKS) for the state. This will involve identifying and contacting recognized and knowledgeable secondary and post secondary teachers, administrators, counselors and business and industry leaders to revise the TEKS for programs within these areas of instruction.

Dr. Phillip McEndree will also be serving as the Chair for SkillsUSA, writing technical information for testing during the state SkillsUSA Leadership Conference, and supporting the statewide Ford/AAA student skills competition in April and May, respectively.
