A. Stephen Lenz, Ph.D., LPC is an Associate Professor of Counselor Education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Past-President of the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling. Dr. Lenz is the Admissions Coordinator for the Master’s Degree Program in Counseling and Director of the Texas Counselors and Healthcare Integration Project (Tex-CHIP), which trains counseling students to use evidence-supported treatments as part of a collaborative care team within primary care settings and other integrated behavioral health networks.

As a practitioner, Dr. Lenz has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families as an LPC in community-based, university, and private practice counseling settings. He is a specialist in the treatment of trauma and positive psychology interventions. His research interests include community-engaged scholarship, program evaluation, counseling outcome research, development/translation of psychological assessments, and meta-analysis. His recent scholarly contributions at TAMUCC have resulted in more than $4 million in external funding and acknowledged as representing best practice by the Texas Counseling Association, the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling, and the American Counseling Association.
