Stephanie A. Grote-Garcia, Ph.D. teaches undergraduate reading courses that focus on reading disabilities, content area reading, and concepts of best practices. Her scholarship focuses on the training of reading teachers and the instruction of struggling readers. Her Ph.D. is in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in reading and additional hours in special education. Her master's degree is in reading and her bachelor's degree is in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in early childhood and reading. Prior to coming to TAMUCC she was a reading specialist and dyslexia coordinator for public schools.
