Faye Bruun, Ed.D., whose specialization is in mathematics education, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. In addition to teaching her university courses, she also serves as Faculty Fellow of Mathematics for GEAR UP/STAR grant and in that capacity mentors students in the local public schools. Her scholarship focuses on using literature and manipulatives to teach mathematics.

Prior to coming to TAMU-CC in 2004, she taught in private schools for ten years as a certified teacher, including fourth through middle school mathematics. Her doctoral and master's degrees are from TAMUCC, and her undergraduate degree is from the University of Texas at Austin.
