Expanding Possbilities Creating Solutions
The College of Education prepares leaders who represent diverse backgrounds and experiences to serve the educational needs of the global community. Our degrees, certifications, and specializations offer preparation for a wide variety of careers in professional education.
Our undergraduate students spend a significant portion of their professional development courses observing and working with experienced teachers. This field-based program culminates in the student teaching experience, in which the student is assigned one-on-one with an experienced master teacher and moves from observation through cooperative teaching to full responsibility for a class. Our graduate students benefit from programs that are devoted to excellence in instruction and research. Students get plenty of individual attention from faculty members and have many opportunities for field experience and collaboration with faculty on research projects. Beyond preparing future educators, the College organizes and supports a range of programs, research initiatives, school partnerships, and community activities that touch lives throughout city, region, and beyond.
